P-Traps in the front, and an extension between the wall and the T-fitting. This reduced stress, but as my sink is not yet anchored, I could not center it in the room (the flexible hoses were pushing it to the right.)ģ/4 - the final configuration I settled on. Photo 2 - both P-Traps are in front of the tailpieces. It didn't leak, but I opted to try a different configuration. In the first photo, you'll see that the left P-Trap runs in front of the tailpiece, and the right P-Trap is positioned behind. This is especially important if your sink is freestanding.Ĥ photos are below. Try to position the P-Traps in a couple of different positions to keep stress off of the connections. if you use the same type of sink, two additional nuts will be required (not included with the kit.) My laundry room sink is a double basin, with a 1.5 inch threaded drain connection in each extrusion. The hoses have a little bit of flex, but not much. I had to add a few parts to get it to work correctly. I used this kit to plumb a laundry room sink. Reviewed in the United States on 30 September 2020 It works very well to accommodate all unique drain situations, and is a real game changer. ![]() What really makes these Snappy Trap kits so great is the slight flexibility of the tubing. It also comes with premium orange rubber washers, instead of the standard cheap plastic washers, which don't seal as well. I thought that the pipes/tubing might be cheap since it's flexible, but it's actually much more substantial than the standard plastic drain piping. I was really impressed with the quality of the Snappy Trap piping and tubes. Also, my wall drain also has an upwards slant, so any drain pipe inserted into it has an upwards slant coming out of the wall, so the standard plastic piping (which has no flexibility) didn't work well. I bought, cut, and assembled all kinds of the standard plastic drain pipe pieces from Home Depot and Lowes, but no configuration really worked well with my limited clearance. I didn't have enough clearance to use the standard Snappy Trap kit. I only had about 5.5 inches from the bottom of my sink to center of the wall drain. I re-did the plumbing under my kitchen sink, and this Snappy Trap Limited Vertical Distances kit solved my low clearance, and drain angle problems. I am redoing my kitchen and that space is valuable As a DIY stay at home mom, I felt I had nothing to lose for $30~a plumbers visit costs a lot more and if it didn't work out I could return it to Amazon. It also freed up extra room under my sink. No more leak! I really recommended this product!! I am planning on replacing the pipes in both my bathrooms with this system as I work my way through the house. I took it back apart applied some plumbers tape to the joint and put it back together. I crawled back in and determined I had cross threaded that pipe. After running my dishwasher I did have a few drops under the sink. (The hardest thing was to get the old pipes removed!) After installing the Snappy trap I tested everything and saw no leaks. The worst problem I had installing the new pipes was some of the awkward angles wanted to cross thread. It was easy! My husband couldn't believe that I had done it with a kit from Amazon. From gathering tools, taking out the old pipes, cleaning up and testing the plumbing it took me 1 & 1/2 hours!! I watched the videos on you tube, read the directions and just took my time.
